Listening to the oldies the other day got me to thinkin', and I should have stopped there, but here's what came out:
To the tune of the same country song:
"Someday Soon"
I bought an old Jeep Wagoneer, its age is 21.
‘Towed it in from southern Colorado
Just out of the service shop and another leak’s begun,
but someday soon, I’m gonna fix it, someday soon.
My wife, she can not stand it. She says it goes too slow,
She complains about it always dying.
But when it runs, it eats up the roughest roads I know,
and someday soon, better mileage, someday soon.
When try to start it, it just belches smoke thats black
Then I spend the afternoon underneath it on my back.
When I have more money, I’ll fix those leaks for sure.
I’ll try those trails out in California.
I love that damned ol’ Wagoneer as much as I love her.
And someday soon, I’ll have it running, someday soon.
And someday soon, I’ll have it running...
