Robert Ihde - 1979 Wagoneer

Pictures taken on day I picked up the Wagoneer. I call her "Rusty, the Road Rhino", partly because of her paint color and mainly because she grew up in Michigan where everything rusts. She only had 70,056 on the clock at the time of purchase, Sept. 29, 2000. I put 1,200 on her getting back to Texas. Going to use her mainly as a fishing vehicle (Padre Island). So far I have had all the fluid changed and a rear brake job. Next I will tackle the Wagoneer nemesis, the tailgate window, it is stuck in the up position and I get not response from dash or tailgate switches. I will take advice on accomplishing this task from anyone with experience in these matters (I have read the Technical Library). I will probably put custom bumpers on Rusty, have some body work done where Michigan salt has done its work, and larger tires for the beach. Any pros/cons on body lift? Everything else seems to work OK; have not checked AC yet but hopefully it will work as Texas summers are getting worse.
