1980 J10 Douglasville, Ga $2250.00

One too many projects right now so this needs a new home. 1980 J10 Laredo: 360 V8, 727 TC Transmission and Quadra Trac Tranfer case. Body is good, interior in fair shape, engine runs good, tranfer case and hubs work just fine, tansmission leaks. Lock-up 727 tranny in it and have the original 727 non-lockup (needs a rebuild) to go with it. $2250.00 Located in Douglasville, Ga.

Mileage

I will try to pin the leak down this weekend (time and wife permitting ) and let you know what I find. 94250 showing on the odometer. The truck pulled a trailer from NC to Georgia when I moved with no issues and then started leaking.

It appears to be leaking around the bell housing and could be the TC or seal and also wet around the back of the pan. Pulls well enough but leaks.

Does the A/c work?
Part time t-case or converted full time t-case?
Tailgate there?
Any hole in the bed, or cab floor (rust)?
How are the cab corner and rockers, much rust/holes?
how much does the tranny leak, does it leave a 2 inch puddle or 12 inch puddle / west spot?
Does it have a tow hitch / reciever?

Does the A/c work? It moves air but not real cold the one time I tried it...never really used it, just the windows.
Part time t-case or converted full time t-case? Stock drive line with the quadra track.
Tailgate there? Yes.
Any hole in the bed, or cab floor (rust)? Only holes in the truck that I have found: one on the panel below the headlights (1/2 inch on passenger side, and one behond each door - both patched with steel).
How are the cab corner and rockers, much rust/holes? See above.
how much does the tranny leak, does it leave a 2 inch puddle or 12 inch puddle / west spot? Pretty big puddle when it leaks out.
Does it have a tow hitch / reciever? No hitch / receiver...ball on the bumper only.

Couple of lookers but no takers so it is available.

I do not know what the Tn requirements are for emissions and could not say yes or no on passing inspection.

It's not as strict as Georgia. :-) (I used to live in Marietta)
If it's leaking really bad, that would cause it to fail, but my step-daughters Jeep Cherokee passed with it missing the cat that was taken out by the PO.
Basically, it all depends on what's coming out of the exhaust.

Did you every figure out where the tranny is leaking from?

Frank, in my county, anything 1975 and newer has to get checked. :-(

We're looking at buying a house next year, so I'm trying to sell my lifted 02 Grand Cherokee (which is really only driven on weekends) and find something cheap to help save up for the down payment. I don't have to sell my Jeep first either if I find something I like. If I don't get a chnce to see it by next month, and if you still have it, we are making a trip to NC (via through Atlanta) next month and can see it then.

Thanks,
Mike

Jeep Jeep - Without taking the tranny out I cannot tell for sure where it is leaking but am pretty sure it is the torque converter. Oh, the Cat has been "cleaned-out" when the muffler was replaced.

I will be unavailable from 11 - 30 Aug to show the J10 but might be able to answer PMs and respond to posts during that time.

I'm thinking 'bout it real hard. Curtis was over here tonight and we fixed his a/c on his new 4 door Cherokee. He was telling me about a red step side with a 304 that's super clean for the same money but I really like this Jeep of Drew's. A step side would be cool to have though.
