Dana 20 Two Different Style Yokes?

I am rebuilding my Dana 20 Transfer Case. I am almost done and about to install my yokes and just realized I have a CV style 10 spline yoke (rounded sides) on the front and Standard 10 spline Yoke (flat sides) on the rear. Both yokes were attached to the drive shaft and u joint with U bolts. Both front and rear drive shafts have the same slip yoke style ends.

Is this right? Should they both be standard yokes?

Front shaft and yoke should be CV (double cardan) style.

Dana made/makes a version of the D20 yoke with ubolt retention instead of caps/bolts. The ones you have would have been added later (not factory).

Based on the photos of the drive shafts should I just have two standard 1310 10 spline yokes?

No, you should have a 1310 u-bolt rear yoke and a 1310 CV yoke for the front with CV shaft

Ok so my front shaft is not a CV shaft correct based on the photo (so its been modified)? Will its current set up cause problems?

Sorry for the stupid questions I just do not know much about drive lines.

You are probably fine until you run much of a lift kit. The cool thing about T18 is that you can run a larger shaft than the th400 equipped rigs. I can't tell how big your front shaft is but it normally would still be 1.25 in tube and 1.25 in spline. You could be larger on both.

You think I am ok to run the front drive shaft as is (which is wrong): 1310 CV yoke with u bolts, with no Double cardigan for a little bit until I can get a CV driveshaft?

As it sits now everything was fitting together, and I was only running it in 2wd on the rear.

You just need to look at it real hard and see if you are binding or rubbing in the bottom of the yokes at the t case. Possible vibration due to angle? I don't remember if you were lifted. How long is your shaft anyway?

I am not lifted. Its at stock height and has 31's on. shaft length is approximately 26" center of u joint to center of u joint.

If you're only running 4wd, why not just leave the front shaft out until you can find a correct one?
