Startling find on a hike (Hi Res pic warning)

I was on a snowshoe hike on a long abandoned road in Upstate NY today and came upon this sight. I recognized the grill and sheet metal on the hood and stopped in my tracks - literally. Do you see it?

It looks like it has been here for years. There is earth visible behind the spoker wheels. It has at least two factory hub covers (I didn't get to the passenger side) The interior was packed full of all kinds of stuff. I was able to see a clutch pedal and floor shift, so if my memory is correct, this is a 258ci Six cylinder(?)

COOL....but if this was off the road a good ways, its probably on somebody's property and may be a project, or parts truck. Or just junk to someone.
If it don't look too bad maybe try to find the owner to see if they'd sell. Proceed with caution though.

Looks great but upstate NY rust might bother me.

I think there might be a body inside...

I'm sure it has all the rust issues associated with salted roads.
As for a body inside, I actually thought of that and cautiously checked.
No human remains inside, but there was a lot of 'stuff' packed in there.
It looked bone stock and parked there and forgotten. The house closest to
            this was also uninhabited.

This is the second FSJ I've come across hiking in rural areas of NYS. I saw a J truck on the opposite side of a creek last winter. If I can find the photo of that, I'll post it.

            Cheers!

I used to see a lot of FSJs in upstate NY. Now they are mostly gone
