Working on the TBI. Trying to merge GMC to Caddy to AMC....

The insulation around the tiny brown wire from the alt is crumbling. Do I need this wire? Its also 20 feet long. Does it need to be that long? I believe it to be a resistor wire, but not sure why it needs it. Guess I'll rap it in elec tape and bury it into the loom.... Oh, yah, the wiring harness is from an '85 GW.

Goes to the alt.. Might be te field wire! Otherwise known as the sense wire. I'd replace that sucker!! Looks real bad. Where does it go? Was it part of the jeep harness or the Cadillac? Also. What model alternator?

AwEsome build!!!!! That cad 500 just bearly fits In there! Heck of a find. You are one lucky duck to get it for free!

It's 11:59 on Radio Free America; this is Uncle Sam, with music, and the truth until dawn. Right now I've got a few words for some of our brothers and sisters in the occupied zone:

                current ride: 86 Wagoneer/06 Grand cherokee SRT8

                former ride :77Wag-401/QT/44's-73k miles!

I am kinda hard on work trucks, so I am building this one as a work truck. Dont have to be pretty, just a reliable "JEEP". I have a service bed that'll go onto it. The engine is only a 425, not a 500, YET...

As for the wire, its a single, FINE strand wire. I was told to replace it with a light bulb...I taped up the bad spots and will just burry it into the harness. It is part of the '85 GW harness, and the back of the 2 alts (Jeep and Caddy) were the same. So everything seemed to be plug and play.

I have to do fuel pump, radiator, tranny lines, O2 sensor, and drive line.
Getting closer one Sunday at a time....

What, no love for Brittish cars? Good luck dude. I do like the Cadillac powerplant though. Is that an early Cadillac Seville TBI Olds 350 or something else? I always wanted to drop a Caddy 472 or 500 in my 69 SW when I had it

Not getting as much time to spend on it, being the holidays and having kids...

I've still got a good couple of full days work to get it there. We need to do a WOT swap, maybe we'd both get something done...
