Wow! It's hard to imagine 18 full sized jeeps in one parking lot. Who's going to supply all that floor dry?

        Mike,
When you say output gear are you referring to the front output collar that the front output shafts splines into, or are you referring to the engaging collar that the vacuum diaphram connects to? I will look at what I've got and bring along the part time pieces I have. If your problem is what I think it is, the vacuum diaphram is or has failed and allowing the shifting collar to walk back and forth while it was engaged in 4wheel drive. Due to the fact that there is such little tooth engagement and only I think 7 or 8 teeth, they strip pretty easy if not fully engaged.

See you all there. Are we going to have enough parking? So the RTI ramp is out somewhere else Tom?

        Kevin.

Should be plenty of parking. I'll be there a couple hours early to claim FSJ territory. Don't really know about the RTI. To be honest I didn't ask them about it. Though I've already seen your Cherokee flex in real life. it might be fun to see it on a ramp.

                    Kevin,

I'm not sure exaclty where the problem is I know that it would engange when I put the thing together a few weeks ago and that it worked for about 6 miles before it stopped engaging. (I was preforming a no no, running front drive only with the rear drive shaft disconected do to a rear pinion being broken. Just to get the vehicle to work so I could put a new ring and pinon in without towing it there.) It would engage for a short time in reverse only after forward stopped working. now I have no engagement at all. It did make a gear tooth not engaging or striping noise at the time of failer. I have not had the time to tear the case apart to see what the problem is yet.

I'll try to get a list of stuff together that needs to go away (everything from axles to fenders, probably the SOA'd J2000). My rig being chopped is not a great transport rig and my Nissan barely holds anything so it will have to be picked up, which will make it cheap.

                          On that parts list

Do you have an ashtray for my '83? I'm not sure which years had the same set up, but I think my old '70s Wags were the same with the ashtray being left of the radio at top center dash. Clock is the on right, but if they ever made an ashtray for that spot too I'd swap one in. I don't smoke but I have a lot more use for a small junk collecting bin than a clock.
