    TC727 TO DANA 20

    so i cant find much of anything for swapping a dana 20 to a tc727 can anyone shed some light on this

    For a Jeep, it's never considered because the drop is on the wrong side. As well as being the wrong pattern. The Bronco used a driver's drop 20, but I don't know the pattern or spline count.

    IHC used the Dana 20 with the TF727, so that could be a junkyard source, if you want passenger drop. Jeep only used the Dana 300 with the TFxxx in the CJ-7, not the Dana 20. Advanced or Novak likely have an aftermarket kit.

      Ford also used a spud shaft (28-spline) and an intermediate housing on the early Broncos -- IIRC most of the D20s were actually six spline input (like some of the Jeeps?).

      The front mounting pattern is completely different, as are the shift rail locations. It's really a completely different transfer case. If you're going TF727, there are much better options.

      1990 Grand Wagoneer with HD towing package -- everything works! (for now...)

          Yes, 6 splines for manual transmission Jeeps prior to 1980, except for the T-14 which was 10. The TH400 with a D20 had 15.
