    New guy 79 J10

Hey everyone new FSJ owner from southern Oregon, my name is Jimi. Just picked up my 79 J10 last month! Cant wait to get working on it!

6cyl, runs great! The wiring looks good and hasnt been chopped up (besides an aftermarket fuel gauge that was put in), minimal rust, doors shut tight, body straight! Looking forward to all the knowledge and info you guys have to offer! Cheers.

looks like a good find Jim !

    nice and solid looking

definitely a good candidate too drive as is or spruce it up.

I have restored an 88 wagoner

and I am taking delivery of a 1976 j-10 HONCHO tomorrow

it needs sprucing up too !

lots of good people on this forum to help you.

Hey, welcome! Nice to see another J-truck and another Oregonian around here. That truck looks like a fine starting point. My wife will be jealous of the fact that you are actually getting some winter down there.

If you haven't already, pull the vents out of the kick panels and clean out all the leaves and pine needles that have doubtless built up in there. Lots of us also put a screen under the cowl louver to help keep that junk from getting in.

I think if I had a 258-powered FSJ, I'd be looking for a crashed late-model XJ to get the 4.0 from. Factory EFI is a wonderful thing.

High quality junk here: intro thread and slow build thread

Did you know? Willys is just Willis spelled differently, but pronounced the same. Neither Willy nor his apostrophe are involved.

Wow! Awesome truck! I love it! Welcome to the group! I am jealous of your vintage break controller. Super cool. I think your truck is perfect the way it is! I say drive it, enjoy it, post picture and cool road trip/offroad stories for us all to enjoy.
