Is it just me or is that a flip-down license plate bracket on the back?
You know it's bad when your car's on the EPA's 10 most wanted list!

      2 designs

Check out the pics on the ebay clean waggy and then Elliott's 67.

Man that just complicated this more cause I like the ebay one that uses seperate belts to run PS and AC.

At least I know what to find.

AMC 327 with 3 belt setup

This picture shows each engine accessory having different belts.
The idler arm looks "cast style" versus the bent "flat bar style" type.

So the "cast style" idler arm is needed to run seperate belts.

Last piece of puzzle is which power steering bracket is needed.
I think I have both styles.

how do I rename this thread? Needs to be in tech archive section of AMC 327.

Flip UP. The 73 and older Wags had this neat design which netted you NOTHING.

                      AMC 327 seperate engine belts

                      Whooo...who...

Some may remember my thread: http://www.ifsja.org/forums/vb/showthread.php?t=81073

well finally found the right parts to have seperate belts for A/C, PS Pump and Alt.

Pulley Diagram and can see the pulley that bolts to harmonic balancer giving the extra belt.

                      http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/d...r/DSC02238.jpg

All this time I was looking for a 3 groove harmonic balancer.
This came in the NOS add on Kaiser A/C kit, I just got in.

Also learned that Super Wagoneer with factory installed A/C uses one belt to drive York A/C compressor and the Eaton PS Pump.

Early production dealer installed add on kit's used seperate belts.

Anyway need to attach this post to the archieve link posted above.

Nice!! Ok I set up my powersteering using the compressor bracket at the idler for the powersteering belt. A regular fan belt goes over my crank pulley up to the idler as shown in that diagram, back down and over to the PS pulley.

I dont understand how you can run the PS like that with no way to adjust the tension on the belt (especially once it stretches. Glad you found the bolt in pulley Dennis! grats!

                          Eaton brackets

Well....there are 3 different styles of Eaton PS brackets for the 327.

2 of the styles are adjustable.

one has Aluminum bracket with slide around adjustment, 2 bolts.
                          other has 3 enlongated holes.

If I could just figure out way to mount forced induction, I'd have the 327 licked and hot rodded.

I was figuring that the third pulley groove was an add on like in the diagram. If you can't find something like that have BullTear build one for ya in aluminum which you know would be so much cooler anyway. You might also find that the early AMC 3 bolt pulley had a similar bolt on extra groove that is the same as the Rambler....

                                York bracket

Bolt on pulley came in kit....

The York bracket on Super Wags is aluminum.

The dealer add on kit is steel fabbed plate.

Will be interesting to see if York brackets interchange, but from diagram I suspect not.

I found one of the steel fabbed brackets at Pascal's buddy Doug in Houston.

So now I guess I got spare as not much interest in the 327.

327's ... Really overbuilt with bore capability of 1/8" (not thousands)...and more stroke...

Heads are only limiting factor from being a real beast of a motor, it's got torque just can't breathe to turn RPM's.

I'm going to proudly run it as the AMC 327 was Jeep's first V-8....way before AMC even came into the picture.
