    Very torn

I don't really want to sell my wrecker. I've put a lot of work into it. It's cool as all heck. Girls like it for some reason.

But, I don't drive it much. I live in the hills and that 230 is a little low on power with the wrecker in it. I REALLY want to do the body and paint it.

I can do the body work with my fathers help, and he can paint it. It wouldn't be cheap, but it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg either. Just VERY time consuming. You've all seen what it looks like. And I have my camper truck to work on at the same time.

I feel very torn about putting it up for sale. Sigh.

But I do have a guy very interested in it for my asking price, that doesn't want the slide in wrecker or plow, so......

I don't know. I'll probably never have another J300 Thriftside, but it sits a lot, and things that sit around here rot into nothingness. I don't want the truck to return to nature anymore than it has already.

Kinda using this post to vent. Like I said, I'm kinda torn about selling it.

Yeah I'm going to look for another job. Just haven't been busy since my new boss took over. I really like working there but if it's not paying the bills.. *shrug*.

If you can, keep it. You will kick yourself everyday if you sell it.

BUT - You got to do what you got to do. Our jeeps are only toys after all.

Sorry I didn't contribute anything you didn't already know. Good luck.

I'm with the rest of the guys here if you don't have to sell it don't. I've realy considered checking on how much shipping that truck out to TX would be. The only thing stopping me is I just picked up my Wagoneer last year and the rest of my jeeps need my attention, as well as the cash in my pocket.

Same here! I really want to get moving on my Camper truck project!

I may end up keeping it. Depends on how much this guy wants it I guess. He's coming from NYC to check it out.

If i got a rare and cool one like that rig, sure it would not be very easy to let it go. As said by others keep it if you can.
I know that many don't agree, but actually IMO these trucks are collectible, and they can be sold for a really good price if they are clean and original. That's what i found last year for two stepsides.
For the wrecker parts, i am not sure it's a real asset for the sale: if i was on the market for a wrecker i would prefer a dually , but don't take my words probably it's only me.

It will be OK either way. It was tough watching the dually leave here a couple years ago but that sale went into the Phoebe resurrection and I am very pleased with that.

I wish you could have watched it leave on it's way to my place. I really like that truck!

You gotta do what you gotta do. I sold my 71 CJ6 to move out of state for a pure-commission job: that's always a pretty big gamble. I knew I would never find another one again, and it made it hard. Strange enough, I didn't feel anything when I heard he destroyed it in a week.
If you really don't want to sell it, hold out for your desired price and be certain you want to get rid of it. No do-overs

My thought is that if you kbow it's going to a good home and throw that in with some of the other factors you mentioned selling isn't so bad. BTDT. I'll always have some cool memories of selling the '84 to Daniel and meeting him and the other fellow from Belgium. I'll never see or own another factory dually as sweet as the '63 but it went to a good home with another member here. Enough rambling and co-miserating. What ever you decide you know it was cool while you had it!
