    Custom front bumper

I am thinking about building a custom front bumper to house a winch. I really don't like black tube bumpers on the Grand Wagoneers so I had an idea:

I am going to make a winch mounting bumper out of box steel and cover the outer 2/3 with the factory chrome bumper pieces from an older Wagoneer.

Can anyone tell me what year Jeep used the 3 piece bumpers on the FSJs.... and where to find them (I know, "on the front of the Jeep).

    Thanks!

I might be wrong but I am pretty sure they used them up until '78. I have them on my '67 and RB has them on his '78, but my '79 parts rig has a one piece bumper. If you are looking for a good set I will let mine go. I am going to making bumpers soon myself and won't need my three piece anymore.

What's there to do with a winch in NYC? Going to pull the empire state building down?

          PorkChop,
I would be interested in the end pieces! Let me know if/when you abandon the factory bumper. Any idea what you'd want for 'em?...wonder what it'd cost to ship 'em

I am not sure what I want for them, but that part of the project is coming up soon. When I get to that part I will let you know.

              Jerry,
Think "Tarzan". In deep traffic, I want to be able to winch up and over (using a bridge) and swing on my steel vine away.
