Intro
Hopefully it works this time.
I'm new to the SJ world but have owned a 95'YJ and 95' XJ in the past.
Last Oct. i purchased my first SJ, an 88' GW with 120,000 miles, runs, drives and shifts good. The interior was pretty rough and it had a few heavy bondo repairs but no rust except a few areas of surface rust in the floor pan but no rust troughs. It is currently in the garage with the interior gutted, glass out and body work in progress.
Last week I picked up a one owner (verified) 84' Wagoneer "Custom" with 62,000 miles. Its all original, manual windows, part time 4WD, vinyl bench seats, rubber flooring, no roof rack or chrome. It had been sitting since 2012. I pulled her home and was able to get her running after a few hours of tinkering. She runs and drives good, does have a bad exhaust leak from a broken bolt (of course it's the rear bolt) and will need some carb work. A few quarter sized areas of surface rust around windshield and front fender. The drivers side lower rear corner has a small rust trough and a few rusted trough places in the floor pan. Planning to fix the floors and try to treat the other rust and drive until the 88' is back on the road then get into restoring the 84'
Looking forward to exploring the forum and I'm sure ill be hitting you guys up as questions arise.2008 JK Unlimited
